The Eternal City
There were a lot of portents and prophecies in this campaign. Some made by the players and others made by NPC’s or in this case as part of dreams. I came across a description of the effects of Diablerie in Vampire Requiem as producing frightening dreams. So I decided this was an opportunity to discourage Diablerie without being a dick GM and additionally use an element of the Ancient world that people took very seriously.
Since Linius and Gaius were two of the most Roman of Roman vampires to give them dire visions about the future of Rome that they might be the cause of it or be unable to stop it I thought was a great character development possibility.
These Prophecies of Doom were merely a worst case scenario, I never intended to ensure that they came to pass.
